Calculator for Estimation of Quantity and Cost of Concrete and Steel in Reinforced Concrete Beam.
This calculator is useful for calculation of Quantity of Concrete and Steel in reinforced concrete beam. The approximate percentage of steel in a beam typically ranges between 1% to 2% of gross concrete volume. For heavy-duty or long-span beams this range may extend upto 2.5%. As per IS 456-2000 the steel reinforcement in a beam should not be more than 4% of gross cross-sectional area. Common practice for steel percentage is 2% for beam. You have to collect market data according to your region for the cost of 1 kg of steel and 1 m3 of concrete. The density of steel is assumed as 7850 kg/m3. This calculator gives the volume of concrete and steel as well as the cost for RCC (reinforced cement concrete).
