Maximum moment at a section due to 3 moving loads

Maximum moment due to 3 moving loads
3 moving loads

This calculator is to determine maximum bending moment (BM) at a specified section C of simply supported beam resting on two supports B and D due to 3 moving loads (P1, P2, P3). It uses trial and error method to determine maximum bending moment value at the specified section C. In each trial, it places each load one by one at the section C and calculates the value of the ordinate of influence line diagram for different load positions and then the total load for that trial. Finally the maximum value out of these trials is taken as maximum bending moment at the section specified.

By default this calculator is using the units of load as 'kN', distances as 'm' and the bending moment as 'kNm'. However other units can also be used and the results will be in the corresponding units.

Please refer to the figure and enter the required values in the form given below and then click "Calculate".
